4th Annual Stick Season Social was a huge success!
BRGNS THANKS THE COMMUNITY FOR A SUCCESSFUL FUND RAISER
Ludlow, Vt., November 7, 2013
On Saturday evening, November 2nd, over 125 people gathered at Sam’s Steakhouse in Ludlow to celebrate a good cause. The event was the fourth annual Stick Season Social to benefit the food and financial assistance programs of Black River Good Neighbor Services in Ludlow. Guests enjoyed a great meal, multiple raffles, and an extensive silent auction.
According to Peter LaBelle, President of the Board, the event was a complete success. “We had spirited bidding in the auction, and the raffle jars were filled with tickets. People loved the food, and the atmosphere was just plain fun. We do this for a serious purpose though – to help provide food and financial assistance when and where it is really needed, and we see some tough times ahead for those least able to meet them. On November 2nd our supporters came through for us.”
For the first time, the affair was sponsored by a number of local businesses. Lunch Level sponsors included People’s United Bank, Vermont Country Properties – Sotheby’s International Realty, and Berkshire Bank. “The sponsors who stepped up to help us this year were fantastic,” said Doris Eddy, Vice President of BRGNS. “They helped us on so many levels, not just with organizing the event, but also putting their money directly to work in the community, helping those who really need it. Also, Sam’s was a new venue for us and they came through wonderfully.”
Black River Good Neighbor Services is a 501(c)(3) organization that provides assistance to those who need help in Ludlow, Cavendish, Mount Holly and Plymouth. To volunteer your time or to donate, please call 802-228-3663 or visit the food shelf at 37B Main Street in Ludlow.
