Weston

The town of Weston, incorporated in 1799, was originally part of Andover but the ridge created by Markham and Terrible Mountains made it impossible to get from one side of town to the other.  The town’s name was derived from its location as the west town of Andover.  Located on Rt 100, 5 miles north of Rt 11 in Londonderry and 10 miles south of Ludlow, Weston is anchored by one of the most picturesque village greens in Vermont.  Virtually untouched by time, the entire village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.  Weston is the home of the famous Vermont Country Store, The Weston Playhouse (Vermont’s oldest professional theatre company),  and the Weston Priory (a Benedictine monastery.)  Weston's sparkling white churches, historic museums, stately houses, warm friendly inns, unique shops and galleries are among the many reasons to discover Weston.  Midway between Bromley and Okemo, Weston is a perfect year-round destination.  A jewel to be found, Weston is a Town for all seasons, interests and ages - a relaxing, rewarding, step back in time.   www.westonvt.com
