We carry hard-to-find products and long-lost brands you can’t find anywhere else. Enjoy a meal in the charming 1827 eating rooms of The Bryant House Restaurant in Weston. We serve a wide variety of comfort-food dishes-such as our homemade Bryant House Chicken Pie-as well as soups, sandwiches, lighter fare… and, of course, real Vermont cheddar. Specials change daily. Enjoy a libation in our beautiful 1885 barroom. Treat yourself to one of our scrumptious desserts made from scratch. Bring the whole family! Your children will find their favorites on our Little People’s menu.
Step back to a simpler time. From the cheery ring of the storekeeper’s bell when you walk in our door to the friendly creak of our well-worn hardwood floors, our Weston store remains the same today as it did when we opened in 1946. It’s stocked to the rafters with 1000s of practical and hard-to-find goods, guaranteed to surprise and delight at every turn.
Opened in 1967, our Rockingham store is stocked to the rafters with delectable Vermont cheeses, penny candy, and such brands from the past as Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific Shampoo®. Spend a leisurely day – try out our classic hand-push mower on our lawn, have a picnic on our grounds, or just relax on our 4-seat garden glider. Take a stroll through our Covered Bridge to find our Grist Mill and Water Wheel Museum on the other side.
Shop Wine & Cheese

Antique Vermont scales provide insight into the 19th Century Industrial Revolution. As Microsoft and Apple are to the present, Fairbanks and Howe scales filled the requirements of industry, medicine, science, merchants, miners, and agriculture. Assembled by Lyman Orton, the Vermont Scale Museum is located in The Vermont Country Store and features over 150 beautiful and fascinating mechanical devices that not only weighed but calculated, measured, tested, and converted an amazing array of data.
