Shrewsbury
The hamlet of Shrewsbury is where the famed moose fell in love with Jessica, a cow, on Larry Carrara's farm. Approximately 10 miles north of Ludlow on Route 103, in the hamlet of Cuttingsville, a village in the Town of Shrewsbury, is the location of the Shrewsbury Historical Society Museum.  It is in a church building next to the famed Laurel Glen Cemetery with its unique mausoleum, which was dedicated to his family by John P. Bowman, who then built a gracious Victorian mansion opposite the mausoleum in the lat 1890s.   The museum is open on Sundays, from 1 to 3pm, from July to October.  Exhibited are all the things pertaining to the Town of Shrewsbury. Further up on Northam, the Co-Op is now operating the much-loved Pierce's Country Store.  In 2016, the Brown covered bridge was designated a National Historic Landmark, and new acquired lands were designated Jim Jeffords State Forest.
